UNITED WAY OF POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY RAISES

$36,000 AT MASQUERADE FUNDRAISER

November 29, 2022, Shawnee, OK – The United Way of Pottawatomie County (UWPC) is honored to announce that a total of $36,000 was raised at the United Way Masquerade Fundraiser.

The United Way Masquerade took place at The Grand Casino Hotel & Resort on October 11.  The event included a New Orleans-inspired dinner with the OBU Jazz Quartet, dance performances from DreamCatchers Dance Company, success stories, and UWPC campaign updates.  Citizen Potawatomi Nation sponsored 15 cakes, which were up for bid during the live auction.  Ell’s Jewelry donated a diamond cluster ring for the fine jewelry raffle, which was won by Cami Engles.

UWPC was excited to debut the Inaugural LIVE UNITED Award.  This award celebrates a non-profit executive director who has made a lasting impact on our community by inspiring hope, encouraging others to achieve their best potential, and who is a strong supporter of the United Way.  Lacey Holt, Executive Director of Legacy Parenting Center, was awarded the LIVE UNITED Award: Executive Director of the Year.

“BancFirst has been an ardent supporter of the United Way of Pottawatomie for decades and we are proud to be the title sponsor for this event,” said Casey Bell, BancFirst Shawnee.  “The United Way continues to make a lasting impact in our community by investing in non-profits that are doing incredible work to create positive change.”

Proceeds from the United Way Masquerade will be included in the current UWPC campaign, which in turn will be re-allocated to non-profit partner agencies in 2023.
